This collection contains images related to Georgia Tech football coaches and teams. Although most of the images date from 1945-1950 when Ray Ellis was the assistant coach, a few photos are of former GT coaches under Bobby Dodd who ultimately became head coaches at other universities. One image of Ray Ellis dates from his time at WEDU-TV in Tampa, Florida. All of the images are black and white.

Ray F. (Raymond Frank) Ellis (1905-1992) served as an assistant coach for the Georgia Tech varsity football team from 1945 until 1951, under head coach Bobby Dodd. He was most noted for his teaching of the "T" formation. During Ellis' tenure at Tech, the football team went to the Orange Bowl twice (in 1946 and 1948) and held an overall 40-21 record. Bobby Dodd (1908-1988) served as Director of Athletics at Georgia Tech from 1950 to 1976 and head coach of the Yellow Jackets football team from 1945 to 1966.
